yesterday as i plugged in my USB " data traveler" in the usb port to copy an assignment from my pC. a no of viruses willing to stays at my pc hard drive for expanding their network.though i was not aware of this attack because unfortuantly my PC had no anti-virus installed (i just installed the fresh copy of windows xp few days before n was in search for some good antivirus software}.
I realize this infection when i starts my pc this morning & witnessed some of programs (internet explorer, device manager , some games etc not running + a lot of new empty folders with .exe format files found in hard drive.also my pc runs as slow as snail.yes then i found answer WHy my internet explorer gets corrupted (not working) withnin days even after installing new windows p
The boost in technology has make man lifes more easir but every new inventions has few drawbaks aswell(in the case of USB, it easily trasnfers viruses from pC to pc + generate helping uniqe vireuses aswell ).USB (data traveler) storage device is no doubt a usefull invenention thts not only replaced the unsafe means to copy data from pc (ie floopy) but also provide huge space to make more data (upto 40 most new with 80 GB space) placed in a small thumb sige devices.Now!! the situation of few minutes before is that i agian reinstall my windows & format the whole hard drive (i lost most of my data from HD :(..BUT now I am confident tht no spyware & virus exist in the premises of my HD & for safety measures i installed AVG 7.5 (the only available on CD with me) it seems me good
Usefull Note :- please make sure that a sound anti-virus program is installed in the PC before plugging USB device to any computer.
